We were told not to plant citrus trees anywhere near our house. They seem to attract them. Have not heard of any problems here in Vistancia/Peoria to date.

Sun City which borders Peoria DOES NOT have roof rats. The Arcadia district of east central Phoenix is the primary infestation area. 98% of the roof rat problem has been resolved.
Flying rats, that's funny, goes along with our hordes of Jackalopes. Roaches are a minor problem in maybe a few lower class areas.

Default Roof rats

We are in Peoria but have a Sun city address and we have had some roof rats seen here, does anyone know if the city comes and takes care of them or do we have to call a pest control service?

Roof rats are individual homeowner responsibility, not the city's. Here is a good informational site about roof rats.
