Is there anything comparable to Anthem or DC Ranch in the East Valley (Gilbert/Chandler/Mesa)?

As far as I know, Anthem is unique with respect to its amenities, affordable gated/clubhouse community and mountain views, etc., but I'd love to hear about any communities in the East Valley that people feel are comparable.

There is an Anthem in Queen Creek, but that's pretty far east. Look at Power Ranch or Val Vista Lakes. I'm sure there are more, but those are two I've been to and can say are nice/safe/clean.

Thanks. I had forgotten that we had visited/considered Power Ranch back when we were looking for a new home in 2004. It's a nice community.

Keep 'em coming!

Very interesting concept, but perhaps a little bit too crunchy for us. And we're also looking for 4k+ square feet, so I don't think they have any current houses that quite fit us. That being said, I think I will drive out there next time I'm in town and check out the coffee shop.

Agritopia is crunchy yes but a cute concept. Check out Val Vista Lakes and Higley Estates.

There are a bunch of oldies, but goodies in the east Valley, master planned subdivisions that are now 20, 30 years old, but have held up well. The Lakes in Tempe (bounded by Baseline, McClintock, Southshore, and Rural) is a nice 1970s era lake community. Dobson Ranch in Mesa is another nice one (the Baseline-Guadalupe & Dobson Rd area). South Tempe is an older area, mainly 1980s era development, a bunch of smaller neighborhoods but extremely nice and well kept up, with high property values. Warner Ranch in particular is worth noting. My favorite new area of the east Valley is south Chandler/ the Ocotillo area. There's a shopping center at Alma School & Queen Creek Rd that is one of the most gorgeous shopping developments I've ever seen, called "The Falls at Ocotillo." Some nice quick casual restaurants there, offices, next to a beautiful lake/waterfall.

"East side represent!!!"

Seville is a great one as a golf community. It's a little to the west of Power Ranch.

Seville - Login

My favorite is Val Vista Lakes, because I live there, and serve on the board of directors so I know the community well. They won the Gilbert community excellence award as the best community in Gilbert for 2007. It's the second time they won the award. There are several 4,000sf + homes on the lake and a few off the lake for sale. These are in gated communities.
