Wife may be dialing in on a job at Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale. We would like the find the best community around this area to possibly build a new home. Any advise on Mstr planned communties around this area or within commuting distance?

Growth in Glendale has been slower than other West Valley cities, despite being the fifth largest city in Arizona. You may want to consider Peoria or Surprise as well, which shouldn't be too much of a commute from the Arrowhead Hospital. There are more new communities being built in those cities then there are in Glendale.

There's not a whole lot of new construction going on in Glendale these days. If you want a brand new home, odds are you're going to have to look toward North Peoria. It's not a bad commute, but is more removed from the amenities that make Glendale a nice place to be.

For a new home in the Glendale area Id look a little further north along Happy Valley Rd in the Stetson area, it's just a couple miles outside of the Glendale limits and only about a 10 minute drive to Arrowhead hospital.

My wife works at that very same hospital. We live in Vistancia, in North Peora, which is about a 20 minute commute to Arrowhead. Happy Valley to 67th.

Vistancia has lots of new construction. Arrowhead Ranch is an older community, but very nice, and is closer to the hospital.

Good luck!

There are a ton of builders currently buying up land and building nice communities in the North Glendale/Far NW Phoenix/North Peoria Area. One of my clients just signed on a semi custom on 3/4 acre lot in North Peoria, around 83rd Ave/Deer Valley. There are a few pockets being filled in going up 67th Ave in North Glendale. Very nice area, although there aren't a ton of amenities. If you don't mind a 5-10 minute drive for groceries, or 15-20 minutes to commercial district & to the hospital, you might want to also consider Stetson Valley in far NW Phoenix, West Wing or Sonoran Mountain Ranch in North Peoria, or as another poster mentioned, the only true master planned community in the area, Vistancia. The older, but well-known Arrowhead area is to the south of these communities. Arrowhead was built up in the late 80's/mid 90's though, not much area to build on. Commutes aren't that unpleasant from the areas mentioned though. It is a very easy drive on surface streets to the Arrowhead hospital.

There are also homes being built on 75th ave. just North of Joy Christian Church. Half mile North of the freeway.
