You can't stop growth from happening, but vertical development is a good way to promote POSITIVE growth, and still preserve the desert lands on the outskirts. We don't need any more Anthems!
THANK YOU, VALLEY NATIVE!!!! Please run for Mayor of Phoenix! I truly agree with everything you said here.

I agree, run for mayor. Only one problem, why would people want to live in a high rise when they can get a huge house with a yard here for 40 bucks?
This is why we don't build up, no one would do it as long as the other sprawl is around. It's too late. People are not willing to sacrifice, even for the sake of it all! Sorry, but this is Arizona you know! We love large, cheaply built homes and Target and Walmart. So sad, but a done deal. Might as well embrace it and find someway to defend it like the rest of them do here. Just relax and go to starbucks, go back to your pool and chill.

Yea, I'm sure there is a lot to relax about in those cheaply built homes whose values are going down the drain.

You are cracking me up Twiggy

They don't want to spoil the Mountain views either. Ask the residents of the Biltmore area.

Default Global warming...and what else?

I'm sure it's true that it's partly global warming, but Phoenicians aren't wiilling to face up to what's their own fault - sprawl, paved roads, too many drivers, ill-advised water use, bringing in inappropriate plants, and so on.

I have to say that the political exchange earlier was very entertaining and surprisingly good natured. Most such political comments soon deteriorate into pretty nasty stuff. All of it here on this post seemed to be in fun. That's a pretty nice (and rare) thing nowadays.

You gotta be able to laugh (even at your own side) sometimes.

Good goin' folks.

Ken

No, and nor should there. President Death and the rest of the corrupt neocons in the White House are a disaster area.
