PHX Sky Harbor has just broken most 110 degree days for a year. Guess what ? 10 day outlook dry as a bone with more 110 plus. If you have survived this summer I suppose you can survive any here...Right ?

Regardless...this has been the worst summer ever. I find no threat of storms quite annoying like heavy snow when I used to live back east. If I was in Palm Springs or Vegas...would not be upset because monsoons do not typically benefit west of Colorado River. This has been the pits.

34 days above 110 today. I venture to guess we hit 50. Nothing in August models suggesting a pattern change. The fetch from Sea of Cortez not happening despite continual high pressure. New Mexico getting a bit more. Atleast Yuma half way to beach from here since we having a Yuma Havasu type summer.

This is not just an urban heat island issue. Tucson Nogales and Douglas not getting the flow either.

Yes lack of monsoon and high pressure making entire region warm. Nevertheless this weekend was way better than last weekend. I was able to go out and do stuff today and yesterday and didn't feel that it was any big deal.

This year has been brutal, worst I can remember and I've been living here for 28 years. It's probably heavily compounded by the whole pandemic thing, normally we'd go away a good 3-4 weeks throughout the summer so would miss 1/3 - 1/4 of the summer heat, but not this year. That plus no monsoon whatsoever in NW Phoenix has been really trying.

A friend and I were talking and found it odd that we only had 1 or 2 dust storms last year and NONE for this year. Then you couple that with no rain, hell, no CLOUDS, one of the hottest summers recorded and record breaking days of 110+ in a row, and you got what feels like an actual Hell on earth scenario. I can handle the unending heat and sun, but damn do I miss the storms.
