My company is moving me to Goodyear, AZ and I have never even been to AZ, much less Phoenix. I need advice on where to look for a house. I will only be there for a year, so I am looking to rent a home, but want a nice area that is close to work. I do not have children, so schools are not important.

I will be working near the goodyear airport (not PHX)..if that makes sense.

What are the best resources for finding rental homes. Here, the paper is a better source than agents, but driving around is good too... so where should I begin? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I would look in Goodyear for a nice easy commute. There are nice areas to look in. You can try looking on Craigslist.org for rentals in that area, or realtor.com.

They are looking to rent a home in Goodyear. Maybe you can get in touch and see if it is a mutually good communication. I also copied your post above to this other forum so they may contact you first.

I just moved from Goodyear a few weeks ago. Have lived in the area for 26 years. A couple suggestions. West of Goodyear, still within the city limits and easy drive to the Goodyear airport are some new homes. Right around Estrella Parkway area. Just a few miles from the airport. South of the freeway(I-10), there are many homes to rent. Another suggestion is the Destiny RV park which is located on Citrus Rd. Again, just a few miles to the airport...very little traffic to deal with. I stayed there this past year...it is gated, a great swimming pool, hot tub, weight facilities, showers, security, clean and very safe. I have never felt so safe in the Phoenix area as I did there. Prices are very reasonable and you can stay year round. Alot of people coming for temp. jobs, nuclear plant, school and traveling nurses stay there. Just a thought. Probably cost you about $3500.00 a year for one of the pull through spots. Any other questions, let me know..I know alot of good places to eat, as well.
