Hello everyone. I'm trying to relocate to pennsylvania. I'm to trying to find a place that is urban (has mall and other establishments)but not much of a city setting and crowded like like Philly and ny. I want a neighborhood that has a good school system. I'm looking for a house that is in a subdivision/developments. It would be also great if the city is 10-40 mins away from philly. Suggestions please? Thank you very very much

Chester County

With the exception of Coatesville(do not live there) there are a lot of urban area and a pretty nice place to live with great weather and nice tolerant people. I've lived here my whole live.

Even during non-rush hour traffic, all but the extreme eastern edge of Chester County is over 40 minutes away from Center City Philadelphia, and that area (the Western Main Line) doesn't offer much in the way of newer construction. You're better off looking in Central DelCo or else South Jersey.

new construction is around on the western mainline in chester county, however it is very large mcmansion communities. There really arent any normal subdivision developments being built in that area. There are some in glenn mills and media that go for around 500-700k

Technically I never lived there, but my significant other grew up in Exton and I've spent lots of time there. There's lots of shopping, good schools and nice neighborhoods. Also, you've got West Chester right down the road which is a great town with restaurants, bars, university etc. I don't know exactly how urban vs suburban you're looking for but Exton is worth a look. It is kind of far from Center City Philadelphia though, so I guess that's a tradeoff.

Facts about living in southeastern pennsylvania? now we're thinking twice of relocating there because we found out that limerick power plant is somewhere around that place. yes, even if the nuclear commission maintains the plant, the byproduct of the powerplant (which is radon) is still being emitted. radon cause lung cancer. thoughts??
