I got a stocking full of tennis balls for our cockapoo, Daisy. I didn't buy them, I pick up discards at the tennis court. She's obsessed with playing fetch. Both the cockapoo and shep/husky Buddy (my daughter's dog) will each get a bone. We actually have to buy three bones -the cockapoo gets nasty and growls at Buddy until he relinquishes his bone - she buries her own bone and takes his away from him. She's such a tiny thing, and he's such a big wuss the way he lets her bully him.
G. D. Cat is getting a can of fancy albacore tuna and a catnip mouse in her stocking.
I don't celebrate Christmas, but did get my dog a few Chanukah gifts when he was a puppy... the cats don't care for much, so I don't bother with them (in terms of holiday/birthday gifts) unless the mood strikes. This year I skipped present giving altogether, even with my human family, so no gifts for the fur-kids!! My mom did give Rudy a pork/rawhide bone, however, which he promptly devoured.
When I hung G.D. Cat's stocking (it's shaped like a fish), and put her presents in it, she kept rubbing her head against it and meowing frantically. I had to get the catnip mouse out and give it to her. I bought it for her at a craft show - it's a mouse stitched out of rabbit fur and comes in a pouch of catnip to "marinate" it. When the catnip wears off, or she gets tired of playing, I put it back in the pouch to marinate some more.
I am getting ready for Christmas and buying mounds of gifts to surround the tree.
It's going to be wags and bags around here soon.
We are going to have a huge party starting on Thanksgiving and going to January.
