You've GOT to be kidding, right? You're not intelligent enough to know this? How old are you, six?

If you want to have children, fine. Do what makes you happy and not what other people say will make you happy.

I decided long ago that kids are not for me; I don't believe that one needs to have children to have a fulfilling life and make a difference; I can spoil my nieces and nephews, volunteer for big brothers/big sisters, donate to causes and charities...etc.

Just be sure what you choose is what you really want.

because we have too much money and need someone to spend it for us?
so we can do algebra again?
because we're feeling too thin and really want some stretch marks?
so many reasons to have children.....

My only child is 32 and still drives me nuts with his bad decisions! Get this....he owns a beautiful home in Florida.... that I even envy! He just put it up for sale so he can start his career! He has none! Hello!!! Don't people start careers to eventually own a home? He owns the home outright...no mortgage....! Get this....his girlfriend moved out of state while he was at work...and took all his furniture with her! Left his home empty! Even took his bed! Wanna here some more? I got plenty more to tell! Right now he went back to Jersey to live with Grandma for a while...he quit his job here! He just does not get it!
I am glad I only had one! Two driving me nuts I could not handle! So why do we have kids? Do not ask me!

Please stop judging your son! I don't know how he feels about your opinions, but my mother is very similar to how you came across in this post. Don't you think that by 32 you should let your kid make their own mistakes without you passing judgment on each one you don't agree with?
The only time I think a parent has the right to be so persnickety is if their adult child is loafing off of them, which it doesn't sound like this one is.
