I agree. Change the locks on your house (if your son has keys) and put padlocks on your garage and sheds.

I shudder to think what could have happened if your granddaughter got out of your truck at school and someone saw your hunting rifle and ammo in the truck. Or maybe she even innocently told her friends or teacher about it.

Yeah, maybe if our prisons were better like what they have in Turkey, or Mexico, or Peru, everything would be so much better.

Our jails and prisons are like country clubs which is why so many don't seem to mind going to one. Someone taking someone else's vehicle without permission probably needs to at least be in jail. Often that's the only way they'll stop doing that.
