More stress & venting! Driving on the freeways in and around the LA area seems to be the worst thing that could happen to anyone. It seems that while you try to keep in the flow of moving traffic there is always someone who wants to help PUSH you a little faster down that lane of traffic. Why can’t they just go around and pass? They love to get on the back-bumper and see if they can read the newspaper in the back seat of the car ahead of them. Unbelievable!

Oh dear lord those highways in LA are not for the tamed that's for sure. I remember I was out there for a visit with family. I had this rental maybe like an old Chevette. I drove around everything to avoid the expressway and OOPS took a wrong right hand turn and I was on the entrance ramp to the expressway. I'm a very confident driver and all that, but what I saw that awaited me was unbelievable. So, I feel for you and totally understand your rant.

Oh Miami is nothing at all like Los Angeles. Miami is a piece of pie. The only time I ever saw traffic backed up was when there was an accident. Los Angeles actually has a stop light at the end of the entrance ramp to help space out the traffic and it's still a mess. And it's not just rush hour either it's like this all the time.
Yuck. I opened that link, saw the bumper-to-bumper traffic, and nearly got sick.
L.A. traffic, not for the faint of heart.
I've driven across the country all by myself a couple times and nothing scared me more than getting on that highway in Los Angeles. And the thing is everything out there is so spread out you almost can't avoid getting on the expressway.

I understand why
This is a different type of horror show ... Nightmare on the L.A. Freeway,
The EX-pressway Orcist, Hallo-L.A.-ween ...
Does anybody know what those solid yellow lines mean down the center of a 2 lane road. I always thought they marked the "No Passing" areas, but it seems like more and more people feel the need to pass in those areas. It doesn't matter if it is on a curve, a hill, or at an intersection, I guess those couple of extra seconds they will save in their travels will make a huge difference in their lives (what's left of them, anyhow).
