Hi. My friend is taking a job near the 91 & the 57 in Anaheim

And needs a suggestion on apartments & a budget for renting. How much is a reasonable budget for renting a 2 bedroom apartment in a safe area? Is that area safe - or should he look somewhere else? Where? He'd like to keep his commute down to 20 mins or 30 mins.

Thanks for any advice one way or the other

There are apartments literally within a stone's throw of the intersection of those two freeways.

The city of Anaheim is big (not as big as LA, but there are 330,000 people here). There are literally all kinds of neighborhoods in it. There are also dozens and dozens and dozens of apartment complexes with, I'm sure, the perfect 2 bedroom apartment for your friend.

There are also other cities bordering Anaheim that have good apartments.

I live in the east side of town (in the canyon, in the hills' shadow) and in my immediate area I can think of a number of complexes to check out. A number of those are near train noise, if you don't mind that.

What is your friend's price range? Prices here can vary quite a bit even in the same city.

There should be something here for your friend somewhere in the north or central Orange County area.

SportyandMisty:

I noticed your zip is 95014, which is Cupertino in the San Jose area.

Is your friend from there also? I'm asking because I want to know what he is used to and what his expectations would be for living somewhere.

The only place I would live in Anaheim, is Anaheim Hills or east Anaheim. The rest of it is a crap hole.

Not necessarily. Would depend upon a lot of things, including the OP's response.

The west side (west of Euclid) has a number of good neighborhoods.
