the good news is summer is over so there should be a bunch of rentals available in the beach areas. Newport is notorious for this so you might get lucky but only if your nose is to the grindstone which usually involves being here for a few weeks to do that. anyway, browse Craigslist etc for an idea of prices
Thanks man, yea i can understand that.
and hopefully there will be chance of me finding something in the end.
i have browsed craigslist and tried contacting people before, but i still need a better idea. so in the future it might be that i do end up using that time share and living down there for a week or 2 in some hotel, just so that i can search for a decent price with a decent deal that is most suitable for me.

The only way you'll be able to afford that is if you share with more people and there are many beach houses with 2-4 bedrooms. It works out cheaper than if you share a 2 bedroom with one other person.
Check out Craigslist for a roomie! Here's a few:

i read all of them and i understand now a little more of what im looking at..
again, my plan was that if i werent able to find something for that price in newport that i would look elsewhere along the beach such as huntington beach, etc.

my friend is into the film the industry and wanted to stay close to L.A because of the opportunities and plus he knows a few people, but i on the other hand wanted to be more closer to the beach and possibly closer to tijuana... for drinking reasons, aha.
so we are both kind of want to stay somewhere along the beach between those two areas..
anybody possibly know of some towns that are decent with nice beaches but aren't to costly?

.. again thanks for all of your help and replies.

Where are you coming from? By the looks of your post, it's obvious you're not familiar with the area. OC is not close to LA OR TJ. It's at least an hour away from Hollywood and an hour and a half from TJ - which by the way is undergoing a drug war the likes of which they have NEVER seen before (my father-in-law lives in Otay rarely leaves the house these days) Tijuana Drug War Enters Tourist Zone - San Diego 6 (http://www.sandiego6.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=d1bb2087-8783-4c3a-8453-aba5a0b1833c&rss=tick - broken link)

Maybe if you told us what you were looking to do during the 3 months of CA living, we could better direct you?
