My dad served in France in WWII. He was in Normandy where the fighting was from hedgerow to hedgerow. After 19 days in combat, he about got his wrist blown off, so he spent the rest of the war in hospitals and in rehabilitation. He never said much about his service, he said the ones who died were the ones who were heroes.

Peggy, your Dad was a hero as well. I remember watching "Saving Private Ryan." If some of you have not seen this movie, you absolutely have to see it. It accurately reflects the horrors that the Soldiers of the Second World War went through; their sacrifices and everything else. They truly where "The Greatest Generation."

Another program to watch is "Band of Brothers." A miniseries from HBO. It really is fantastic.

God Bless all of you Veterans out there. We would not be the Country we are without your sacrifices.

I am honored to have served my country. My years of service as an Army Soldier are some of the most rewarding years of my life.

Although I an proud of my Military srvice, I must say that there is another group who deserves our thanks the most. The Mothers who lost thier sons and the Wives who lost thier husbans in the wars, these people are the "behind the lines troops" that really deserve the Honors and our respect. They are the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifce for our Country above all.

GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU, I SALUTE YOU!!
