Neat horses, alot of shoveling.
I was raised on a dairy farm in Michigan, so shoveling gutters is something I did alot of. One thing you can say is, you don't get cold while your doing it.

I miss the farm life.

Yes. The aunt was working with AIM for quite a while....she was also a professor at U C Davis for a number of years. According to her sons she had been adopted by the Lakota

GP, there was a lady at Kansas State University who was really into AIM in the old days. She took part in the BIA takeover in DC. She was really gutsy. She used to take her sociology class to see Peltier.

Speaking of gutsy. ComputerG, they were showing okies noodling on National Geographic tonight. You will flip when you see that. Those good ol' boys have my respect! Here's a link, I seem to remember you saying you aren't into TV much. Enjoy!

You're talking to an old, hardcore fisherman...
I've seen some catfish that looked more like sea serpents.
Glad to know there's a good fishing tradition in OK...

Jessaka: "noodling" is a form (style) of fishing.

Noodling is where they get into the river or lake, and do not use any fising poles, lines, or hooks. They feel in the muddy bottom for a hole and stick their bare hands in there and try and catch the catfish with their bare hands.

What freaks me out is there are poisonous snakes and snapping turtles in these waters.

Noodling
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Noodling is the practice and sport of fishing for catfish using only one's bare hands. Catfisting, grabbling, graveling, hogging, tickling, are all possible names, depending on region. (Kentuckians call it dogging, while Nebraskans prefer stumping). Five U.S. states have laws explicitly permitting handfishing: Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Kansas.

I know a guy who noodles. I can't understand why he does it. He says he has never been bitten. Those catfish have little "teeth" though. He sticks his fist in the hole and lets the catfish bite his hand!

So, is anyone frozen in this morning? We had some rain last night but it doesn't look so bad out there.
