ACHILLE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SPEED TRAP WHERE THE CURRENT JUDGE IS UNFAIR AND UNJUST. THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS CRAP-HOLE OF A TOWN TO SEE OR DO. SO MY FELLOW TEXANS AND PEOPLE FROM OTHER STATE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY DON'T GO THERE. CITY AND COUNTY LOADED WITH CROOKED PEOPLE MAINLY THE JUDGE THAT PRESIDES THERE AND THE SUPPOSE TO HONEST COPS (CHOKING ON THOSE WORDS). . YOU THE PEOPLE OF ACHILLE KNOW THIS TO BE FACT AND LET IT HAPPEN. STAND AND GET RID OF THESE OFFICIALS SO YOUR TOWN WILL QUIT GETTING SUCH A BAD RAP.

Well, all righty then. Hope that rant got it off your chest. I've never even heard of this town of which you speak. I'll have to Google it and see where it is. Guess the lesson here is, don't speed!

Been through that little community several times and never had a problem. Of course I was driving the speed limit and that is probably why. lol.

Many small towns are like that. One of the worst in Oklahoma is the little town of Bernice on Grand Lake. My neighbor got a ticket for going 47 in a 45! No warning, but yes a ticket. Bernice is pretty famous too:

You know that the town itself is likely breaking the law, don't you? Oh but you don't care, as it is alright when they do it.

I was driving back back from Dallas this weekend on HY69 and saw so many cars with Texas tags going 10 to 15 over the speed limit. A few of them got pulled over around Stingtown (Stringtown) and Atoka. I don't feel sorry for them. 70 mph on that road is fast enough.

I'm sorry I have no idea what law the town is breaking by stopping speeders.

And why would you say something like I don't care? What makes you think I don't care? All I said was, don't speed, which I think is only common sense, especially when driving through a small, rural area. Most people realize that speeders are the main form of revenue for many little towns. Common sense would dictate to not speed through a small town. Hey, I've been stopped and ticketed in a speed trap town before, for going only a couple of miles over the limit. But the fact is I was speeding, and I knew I ran a risk of being caught when I did it. I gambled and lost. Can't gripe about it when I was guilty. Neither should the OP.

Beware of Piedmont (NW of OKC). They have developed quite a reputation when it comes to speeding tickets these last two years. I got my first ticket in over 20 years back in '10 there. Warnings are rarely given unless your an influential member of the community and out of towners almost never get off easy. However, one thing I've noticed is that if you contest your ticket, numerous times you can get off or have the fine reduced, at least according to the Piedmont Gazette where they list all who were ticketed.
