Its upsetting that I can only find sweet tea at limited restaurants if anyone could help me that would be great.

As a native of Texas, where the only acceptable addition to tea is freshly squeezed lemon, I must encourage you to break this perplexing habit of ruining a perfectly good glass of iced tea with the addition of Satan's nectar (also known as Castro Crystals).

(If your compulsion is such that you must gradually wean yourself off this unfortunate habit before breaking free of its nefarious grip, try the restaurants mentioned in the recent thread on Southern food in NOVA.)

cripes I find sweet tea everywhere.... literally everywhere. My mother was visting from CT and just wanted unsweetended ice tea and couldn't fit it anywhere. But then I live out in the country in NoVA, maybe that's why?

True southern sweet tea is hard to find in NOVA but it's out there. I actually like the sweet tea at the drive up Checkers and believe it or not for as bad as McDonald's is I like their tea.

There's a restaurant near where I work in DC called Levi's Port Inn that apparently has tea so sweet it will throw you in a coma.

McAlister's Deli recently opened in Herndon at Worldgate Center - they serve the best Iced Tea you'll find around here. Love their sandwiches, too.

As a native Alabaman, when my relatives come to visit me, the only place I have found that sells a sweet tea that is acceptable to their palates is Harris Teeter. They sell it by the gallon. Theirs has a stronger tea flavor than sugar flavor. Its a nice change from my mother's style.
