These same posters have gone on & on with their debates/arguments/etc. BEFORE the past year, & they got their infractions/reprimands/deletions/etc., but the threads weren't shut down at the drop of a hat. (not HighHat either...)

I happen to not agree with the "telling Mommy" thing...to a point. There's alerting a mod to a potentially dangerous or explosive situation, & then there's throwing someone under the bus because "I don't agree & think you're being a "bully".

The previous mod had absolutely NO problem keeping this forum in check while debates/discussions & information flowed instead of shutting down threads unnecessarily, resulting in the exit of more & more posters in disgust.

Grade school?? YES!!! I see it plainly, & from those who ***** about "grown adults" acting like grade-schoolers as well as those who actually do!!
Damn rep button is broken again.

Well said..........

I am on FB though, and have enjoyed interacting with many of you there I ran into Rosanna at the Tunkhannock DMV about a month ago..that was cool! Hope you're all well...take care!
Its so nice to see you here again Ms Enya!!!
It was exactly that. New people hitting the "red" button.......when the long timers were used to the banter and thought nothing of it. Not to say at some points it did get a bit strong and difficult.......but so what.
We are not in school, and this is not the library.
Then it goes like........hummmm......I'm the captain of the ship and I want it to go like this. Oh yep.......
FB is really fun for family and golden friends........but CD is wonderful for information and "chatting" about it. It just can't be beat.

Couldn't have been that great of a community if a few closed threads and reported posts killed it. Just sayin'.

Sorry that you all don't have my total attention. My oldest son is graduating from College on Saturday and my real life is taking precedence. Don't take it personally!
Congratulations to your graduate. And congratulations to you for having survived it all! As a Mom of five sons, I know how much hair you have to pull out before you can breathe easier. LOL J/K. I wouldn't have changed it for anything, and I know you wouldn't either.

Prime example of part of what happened to this forum. Some posters just never give up grinding that bone down to the marrow & instigating, do they??

This forum is what it is now...FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET IT GO ALREADY!!!!!

(I will put in JohnQ's disclaimer..."THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK"!! )

I'm a firm believer in letting people have their say, as long as it can be civil. Name-calling, sniping, whining are not conducive to intelligent conversation. In the interest of a stable blood pressure, I finally succumbed to the ignore factor, and after much consideration, I put one person on my list. It has worked well for me, since that particular person seldom said anything enlightening or interesting. And my BP is much better since I don't see the posts from that person.

(I have been in other forums on CD and I have seen far worse bickering than I have encountered here.)

I am with you! I dont know who you are referring to but I do know that there are some comments in the past that should not of been made. I dont argue most times, I just ignore threads that I know are going to incite hurt feelings. I guess we are all opinionated but I think most of us show respect! That is what was lacking, and I dont mean that you cannot voice yourself but respect others if you disagree.

I do miss coming on here but I am on facebook mostly and see some of you and are happy that we still communicate. Funny thing, I know your names on facebook but I dont remember who you were on here, well except for JG!

I have to say this is great that there's an off topic thread again...it already seems to be livening things up again and bringing back the old regulars.

I really don't think too many arguments here ever crossed the line into anything threatening or obscene. It would get heated, but still stayed civil, in my opinion.
