Any opinions or experiences with this community? I am considering buying property but have concerns about some of the neighboring communities. I recently heard someone call Pine Ridge "Crime Ridge." I also read about the traffic around the Flea Market but I'm more concerned with my safety.

-Thanks

What safety concerns should a single female living in the Bushkill area be aware of?

Help anyone?

Well if you want to live in communitites where the "kids" seem to run amuck
with no parental supervision then by all means move into them...However,
I wouldn't, that's just my opinion....Try looking outside of a community, unless
you want the amenities that come with them...but then again you are paying
for these and some of the "fees" have gone up...Right now our family is trying
to sell my aunt's house in Saw Creek Estates.....been in the family for 30 years...always used by family, never rented out....but in light of all the recent
developments in that area, we feel it's time to move on....It's a beautiful area
and I hope that it will turn around from all the negative publicity it has had
over the last few years, but I think it's going to take a while to do this and
hopefully people that live in these communities will fight to take back their
lives and speak up about the crime and turn in anyone they know is violating
the laws....So I would definitely stay out of Saw Creek, Pine Ridge, Lake of
the Pines, Winona Lakes, sorry if I offend anyone but I think you would be
better off buying a house outside of a development....WE did and never
regretted it........

I agree that you're definitely better off staying out of the gated communities, but more than likely, the prices are usually higher.

Thank you for your opinions and advice. My work is near King of Prussia so I do not want to be further North than this, otherwise I would look toward the wonderful areas discussed on this forum. I would like to be near a lake and from what I understand, you must live in a lake community to do this. I liked Saylors Lake but the homes were tiny, close together, and needed work. And somewhere on this forum a person's plumbing/copper pipes had been stolen. I liked the west side but the homes near the lake were too expensive for me. I grew up on a river and would love a place on or near the water again. (No PA rivers thank you)

How does crime in East Pocono compare to say...Norristown or King of Prussia?

Also, what's the story with the enormous Highland Village development?

Thank you

I am also interested in moving to that area. I liked a few of the houses that were located in the Sunrise Lakes area but the immenity situation is unclear. They charge 500$, (or something like that), but they don't seem to get anything in return-?? What's that all about??

I would stay away from that area , with Pine Ridge and Ranchlands and that Trailer park,

Its only a matter of time till its all bad ,, Plus there is No shopping 01 ( state road 2001 also known as milford rd) is a real bad road ..

There is Much better land and houses 45 min north of there

The gated communities have gotten a bad rap....some deservedly so. I have built in all of them. In that particular area, PMLE is probably the best. Nice pool, good security, and good supervision per their policies on construction. I did not like Sunrise Lake (bad road maintainence) or Pine Ridge....but truly, I did think PMLE was of most well run gated communities North of Bushkill...however, quite the commute to K of P. Try something closer to White Haven, where you can jump on the PA Turnpike...couple nice communities their with no crime at all, good schools, & probably some nice properties to be had.
