Why did NBC 17 here in Raleigh tease their 11pm news with "And at 11...how the battle over unemployment EB benefits will go on through the night."

Hope for a miracle. Hope for our state and federal leadership to actually get serious for once about job creation and FAST.

AMEN TO THAT ,I live just 2 miles down the road from the now empty phillip morris complex in concord. Man this place is HUGE!!!!!!! I worked in there for a contractor for a couple of years, it took 25 mins from the parking lot to the basement where tho contractors office was. This complex could house a company with 10,000 workers . THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR NC

Maybe someone can help me out here. I was on EB after my 4th tier. When it ended april 16 i was on the phone with ESC, i was told that i qualified for 728.00 still remaining. Im just tryna figure if the retro pay, in my case, will be just for that 728.00 dollars or for the whole seven weeks? Im confused.

How much do you get a week? You will only get a payment up to the amount you qualified for. If that was 1 week, then you will only get 1 week.

How many weeks did you have left of the 20 week EB? If you were already almost 99 weeks into it then that would sound right that you only had that much money left.

With all that EB money ($11 million a week * 7 weeks = $77 million) gushing into the NC economy at once, that's going to be something of an economic stimulus for our state!
