*Yawn*....oh look the typical “our version of whatever you’re comparing has this, that, and this more then yours so therefore we’re better”...that can go back and forth almost infinitely.

Hopefully you understand that the only reason a comparison was made between Crabtree and Southpark was to simply state how the style in which both areas have/will develop(ed) has more similiarities then a North Hills vs Southpark comparison. Not to get into a pissing match about which is better

It's just North Carolina culture. For example, if Charlotte ever got a major MLB team the Raleigh areas will root even harder for the Nationals. Haha

Also, on the gourmet front, TIME Magazine just released their preview of the 'The South' Issue and guess what city in North Carolina is heavily featured for it's food culture?

Is this development news? I feel like culture is a part of NC development.

Not true at all. Charlotte supports Duke and Carolina. The Triangle supports the Panthers. There is more unity in NC than you think. As for the restaurant scene in the Triangle, it's great to see the area get recognized.

This is a problem That faces all NC cities. Affordable-Housing
But to secure those commitments is a chronic problem. For one, the state government doesn’t allow cities to set local affordable-housing targets. So the city cannot tell a housing developer planning to build a 150-unit apartment complex to earmark 10 percent of those units for people with lower incomes. That’s a problem in Charlotte, where 46 percent of the population is considered “cost-burdened,” meaning they pay more than 30% of their income toward rent

There's even a few thousand people from Pittsburgh in Charlotte that have heard of the Hurricanes.
