it’s exactly as Edward said, it will be redeveloped land.

And shame about NC losing out to Richmond, but congratulations to VA.

I guess with Greensboro Landing the Publix distribution the blow is softened abit.

But you would think with all the grocery news, such as publix or fresh market moving their HQ uptown, we should have stood a chance imo.

The News Observer, Shared by the Charlotte Observer, has an analysis on how the Triangle would’ve been a better market but how Malik didn’t have enough $$$

If MLS expansion were a bad romantic comedy, this would be the end of the second act. The desirable newcomer has chosen the phony, rich rival over the genuine, deserving protagonist, and the third act would bring them together, forever, as it should be.

The ads were well produced. I'd love to see Charlotte's too.

Raleigh does have rich history of youth soccer since WRAL built a bunch of soccer fields at one location in North Raleigh in the early 80s.

Since then Raleigh has hosted many East Coast tournaments. I know this after meeting a young guy from Florida in NYC talking about how boring Raleigh was compared to Ft. Lauderdale. Ya think?

My question is could the City of Raleigh come up with a 110 million for a soccer team? I think the MLS is looking for big money and where it can get it. If Charlotte did not have a new Panther owner with lots of money I do not think Charlotte would be the MLS 30th team. Also so could Raleigh get 60 Companies to buy special seats for soccer?

Raleigh may come the place for a college soccer Bowl championship.

On Tuesday Morning at 10:00 in Charlotte will be name the 30th Team, info from WFAE.

Wake county could easily come up with $110M.

But I mean. I think pretty much everything you are asking is irrelevant at this point. MLS isn’t coming to the Triangle anytime soon so. Questions about NCFC make more sense instead of beating a dead horse

I absolutely love Charlotte’s “can do”, “ we wanna be a big world class city too” attitude. Some mock it as crude boosterism, but it works!

What's "can do" about the nation's 23rd largest metropolitan area landing the 30th MLS team or am I missing something?

Publix Supermarkets Inc. has signed a deal that will bring the grocer to uptown, ending years of speculation.

The Lakeland, Florida-based grocery chain has signed a deal for a 28,000-square-foot store at 10Tryon, at the northwest corner of Tryon and Ninth streets, says spokeswoman Kim Reynolds.

"We are excited to be a part of the growth that’s happening in our city. We’ve received numerous customer requests for a Publix in Uptown and look forward to bringing Publix’s premier service and quality to 10 Tryon," Reynolds told the Charlotte Business Journal.
