My brothers and I were never the hugging type. However, my middle brother had a very serious car crash and thanks to a misunderstanding, the first news we got was that he had died. In the end it was just a confusion and he was okay, even though he had a few injuries.
My elder brother and I hugged him the first time we saw him after the crash and have kept the habit.
Is it acceptable? We just try not to do it in public or in front of our grandfather who doesn't find it too funny.

That is flaming gay. Totally unacceptable to hug your brother. If you did that in the presence of kids, you should have been arrested.
I remember one episode of the original TV Star Trek in which Mr. Spock actually smiled when he realized he hadn't killed Capt Kirk (on Vulcan). It's the only time Spock ever smiled on that show (except in Spores when he became a different person).
I think it's exponentially more gay to tell others what is gay in response to someone inquiring about how gay something is.
Well, given your track record on human relations, I'm reassured here. Because I've found that the exact opposite of whatever you write is actually the case.
Back to the OP. Who gives a damn what anybody thinks. If you can't hug your brother, who can you hug?

That's true. I didn't think of it that way. He's only a few mincing steps from having a Marilyn Monroe poster in his den and a stack of Judy Garland CDs on his stereo.
