European men don't kiss each other on the cheek if they are strangers, but they will when they're family, and I assure you OP, they don't think it's gay.

It's kind of weird you're bringing this up about your own brother. I mean, maybe I understand the question if it's about a non-relative but your own brother? My bf hugs his brother when they see each other. Not intimately of course but it's still a hug. Hugging is not automatically a feminine action.

Sex and gender have nothing to do with each other. Don't let this statement scare you. Hugging, and/or kissing someones cheek is perfectly ok.

I can't imagine any sort of action being "feminine." Even if it was, it still doesn't make hugging your brother "gay" in my view.

But it might seem that way to the OP, who is so insecure about it that he felt he had to ask city-data. Growing up, he was probably told, "this is gay/womanly, this isn't" so that's probably how he perceives things.

No, it's not gay for brothers to hug. Babies in the womb hug, they don't know what gay is. And, I agree with hugging. You never know when that last hug may be afforded to you. Hug on, brothers!

Check on his other posts about hating people being interested in him. This is the least of his worries. Seriously.

But, I hug every single guy I see. Oops, wrong thread...

To the OP, glad your brother is okay.

@The OP: No, it is not gay, and certainly not any more gay than two females hugging each other.

If you were truly grown up, you wouldn't have to ask.

I kiss and hug my brother and sister every time I see them. That doesn't make my brother gay (I'm female).

My husband hugs his family when he sees them, it's not gay, and he is definitely Mr. Macho lol (or he thinks he is lol).

Anyone who calls you gay i'd tell them they are gay lol- that'd freak them out obviously :P
