Back in the 1908s I had an '81 510 wagon. Great little car. It was my first foreign made car and I was impressed. Since then I've had a Honda Accord, then 3 Subarus.
Parents had a Datsun B-210 two door notch-back. It was orange with honey comb hubcaps and black interior. Though acceleration was slow, it was fun to drive and got fantastic MPG. Only reason why they traded it in was because my sister and I were out growing the back seat. Kind of sad that the brand known for both fuel efficient and sports cars in the 70s and 80s, nearly died and is owned by a French company. What's even sadder is Toyota and Subaru managed to create a modern version of the Datsun 240Z in performance and price.
In the 70's my mom had a 510 she bought brand new ('71 maybe?). In fact it was orange and looked very much like the one pictured above in front of the Rx-8 sign (minus the mods). That car was hit on both doors and rear ended twice as well as flipped and she kept on going. Mom finally traded it in in '78 (I think)
