Merc63, I had 2 SPL 311's One black with red seats and the other red with red seats. The black one was a 66, and the red was 67 or 68 i can't recall. Both were 1598 cc's.

Mac, I love those 1600 and 2000 roadsters. Hard to find now on the east coast, but still all over the west coast. Here's a guy that loves them more than me:

I drove my father's 280zx in high school. Car was already about 16 years old but still fun as heck to drive. It's needed some work over the years, but my father still drives it.

1974 Datsun 260Z here.

Early model year (still had the early thinner bumpers).

GREAT car, would still drive it if I could get a new one.

Miss it often.

BTW, 4 speed manual trans. The five speeds did not come out until later model years.

My FIL had one of the 1st Datsun Fair Lady's in CA. He even towed a 18' flat bottom inboard from So Ca to Lake Mead in NV (what a PITA that was) firewall gave away from launching/un launching too many times. I had a neat 1970 510 2 door that was pretty cool and a 1982 280 ZX that was incredible for the time..

I have been driving for 44 years, and have owned 23 vehicles in that time. I have owned Nissans since 1985. That's 27 years, and I have only owned two! A 1985 Nissan Sentra, and the 1993 Nissan Hardbody pickup I still own! The only reason I traded in my eight year old Sentra is I wanted a pickup.

Nissans satisfy, are reliable, and EXTREMELY inexpensive to own. The only repair my Sentra had in eight years (besides tires and batteries) was a new muffler. My truck has needed (besides batteries and tires) a starter, shocks, windshield washer motor, and a little rubber bumper that is mounted on the brake pedal that works the brake light switch. It needed it's first brake job last year. I have never even had to add a can of freon to the MUCH USED air conditioner!

I have put way more miles on Nissans than any other make. They have given me better service than any other make.
