300zx was even more over the top when it debuted in 1990, but was well ahead of its time... I mainly see them in the Sunbelt but they hold their value well.
It was so far ahead of its time that it outpriced itself in a hurry. Too bad too. It was one sexy car.
To find one in excellent condition will definitely cost $$$ I love the front end styling. It still looks modern more than 20 years later.
I bought a 91 Nissan 300ZX from the original owner two years ago. The owner babied the car and kept it completely stock and had it serviced at the dealer. He had a 74 240Z that he brought to car shows and had just ordered a new 370Z. My car is a 2 + 2 with a 5 speed and t tops. Love taking it out for a spin in the good weather. My wife and I take it when we go away for weekends... My brother in law has the same car in black and his is a twin turbo two seater...
My dad bought an '85 720 hardbody pick up when I was 6 or 7 years old just to use to take off trash and haul small loads. Now, 20 years later it still cranks right up. We don't really use it anymore so sometimes it sits for weeks without being cranked. But you can bet when you go out there and turn the ignition, it will fire right up.
I would love to restore it one day to make it look nice again. It's hard to find "all" new body parts for them though.
Be nice if Nissan could make a 250SX using the current Nissan 2.5L 4 cylinder. If they can keep weight down like Toyota and Subaru did, it would be closer to the original 240Z which was a light weight affordable sports car that was fast in the corners but was no stop light demon at all. Currently, the closest Nissan has to this is the Altima coupe, a FWD car.

Agreed. It could be the modern equivalent to the old 200SX. I posted a video of a 200SX from the early 80s and Nissan would definitely have a solid market for sporty two door coupes if they sold them.
Sigh... Nissan hasn't been the same since Renault took over. I've discussed my experiences with Nissan in other threads, but they've all been positive. I've owned 3 Nissan Sentras myself and they were all great cars. My Dad had a Datsun B210 when I was very little, and then my parents got a 1987 Sentra that retired with 290k. My mother's 1997 Altima went 245k miles before it was time to give it up.
Nissan always lived in the shadow of Toyota and Honda, but their cars were always extremely reliable (at least up until the late 90s, early 2000s). Nissan doesn't have much to offer me these days, unless they can develop an SE-R model of maybe the Versa or Sentra that is actually worthy of the "SE-R" badge. My last Sentra was a '99 SE-L, with the SR20 engine (the same engine that powered the previous SE-R models), and that was the best 4 cylinder car I ever owned.
