I was there today and it seemed alright I guess. There were some nice buildings and some shoddy ones (not dilapidated, just poorly maintained) which I guess reflects the "mixed income" aspect. I also saw lots of ethnic food stores and stuff and a ethnically diverse population to support it. However, I needed something from the pharmacy and I had to walk a pretty good bit to get there, that was kind of annoying. Also the friend who I was visiting lived far away from the train stop. There is Astoria Park! Parks are always a plus, right guys? On a scale 1-5 I'd give it about a 3. Not bad, but not excited about it. Just an outsider's perspective.
