I tried explaining to them that I notify HR when I got my license but appranantly they didn't notate it to my file so when they was calling, they just Skipp me.

But she said that she would look into it with her supervisor, and see, best case scenario somebody drop out of this July class or if the supervisor say to take somebody that schedule for the class out with a lower list number and make space. There a few people in this predicament and they are aware. Smh. Fingers crossed
I can imagine how frustrated you must be. I was frustrated at the fact that i had to fax my own paperwork to them 2 weeks after I passed the cdl with THEIR class. I am still going to call in a week to make sure they actually updated my file.

whats your list range?

First class got to list number in the 500's. I'll bet the second class finishes lower than that. Now that a lot of those people that got skipped over had a chance to get their CDL. Or there could be another hiring freeze and I can make my chart every week. Fingers crossed lol. Gotta run. Gotta go get my pension loan.

I'm in the late 350-400s. Thanks for understanding. Maybe they take people with lower list numbers out the class to put those with better numbers in. Especially if we did our due diligence to update them on our end.. smh.. guess the lack of common sense is the same no matter what city agencies you're dealing with.

Hey guys. I'm taking my road test tomorrow in Maspeth Queens and just had a few general questions. Is there something you can do to get an automatic failure? I've heard hitting curbs on turns is a heavy deduction. Any other things with heavy deductions? Thanks for any info!

Any dangerous maneuver is an automatic failure. At Maspeth, the main things to watch out for are the stop signs and the railroad crossings. At the 1st stop sign, make sure there isn't any oncoming traffic coming from your left as far back as the curve in the road. At the stop sign immediately after that, make sure there isn't any traffic coming from across the railroad tracks as far back as the fire hydrant. You have a stop sign, they don't, so they have the right of way. At the railroad crossings, make sure to check your mirrors before proceeding after you stop. If someone is trying to pass you and you cut them off, you will fail automatically. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I think my instructor said the bus doesn't have a stop sign at the crossing but you have to stop since you're a bus.

Also, when parallel parking, where are you supposed to make the V with the bumper and curb? It's hard to describe what I'm asking, just looking to see if anyone can explain it better to me.

Yes, there isn't a stop sign at either of the railroad crossings, that's why you get traffic trying to pass you when you stop. Like I said, just make sure you check your mirrors before you proceed. Two people failed because of that the day I was there.
