I'm coming for a visit to NYC and messed up with Priceline. Thought it was just Mnahattan and now I've got a hotel in LIC. It's going to be just me (female) and 2 small children. Is it safe????
You'll find it pretty desolate and industrial. Particularly at night. They have built it up a bit, but there's still not much going on in the way of interesting things to do.
That said, you'll be fine. There are tons of yuppies living all around the area. Just keep your head up obviously if you're wandering around late at night.
Yeah. That or hunterspoint ave. 33rd street is probably closer though.
And I just wanna edit my point about "tons of yuppies" living around there. That mighta been a little strong. That particular area, not so much. But again, you should be fine.
Thank you so so so much. You've put my mind at ease, although still thinking I might try to speak directly to the hotel and see if they'll change it to Astoria!!

I'm trying to think if there is a marriot in astoria. It's not coming to me. I know down by the bridge there are a few hotels, like a comfort inn and the such. But I don't think a marriot.
Either way, there's not a lot going on in those areas either.
Just avoid Queensbridge housing projects, you should be fine! I understand as an out of towner your probably afraid of having a gun pointed in your face by a black guy or having an hispanic guy mug you from behind or having a group of Italians beat you down with baseball bats. You shoud ok!
