Im coming into NYC for new years and wanted to know some info about this area where my hotel is its on 27-05 39th Avenue Long Island City,New York11101 its 4 blocks from the queensbridge NYCHA and I wanted to know if this is a safe area before I book?

I would say it's ok. It's fairly close to one the biggest NYC projects, so you'd still need to be alert of your surroundings.
There are several hotels in the area, I bike through a hotel called 'Verve' on 29st. There's also a Quality inn right around the corner, both of these are few blocks further away from the pjs, where you could use the 39ave station instead.
Overall, I think the area is fine.

Thanks I actually just checked and that hotel is booked now..lol so much for planning ahead for new years I may do the sublet route but I wonder if any is available. Im trying to come to NYC for new years then stay an additional 2 weeks to find an apartment for my permanent move the first week of Feb. Know any good subletting sites?
