As for language, a modern Orthodox or Conservative or pluralist school will typically teach in English, using hebrew only in language classes, OR it will teach some judaics classes in Hebrew.

Ultra Orthodox schools will often teach judaics courses in Yiddish.

I could not help wondering how the majority of next generation of NYkers will turn out like after going through the current public schools as they are now.
To answer your question no they will not accept you if your not jewish. They give out exams to see if you can handle the work and since you are not jewish you dont know hebrew or yiddish and wont be able to pass. Why would you want to go? Do you want to make the 6 o'clock news that you were discriminated against because your not jewish?

Charter schools are public and they have no right to refuse anybody.

Not all Jewish schools (except perhaps the ultra-Orthodox ones) require the children to pass Hebrew/Yiddish tests especially if the children are very young.
This situation is the same as Jewish person wanting to send their children to a private Catholic school. Why would a Jewish person want their child to go to a Catholic school?

No its not entirely the same. Catholic school would love to have a jew to convert them. Jewish schools dont want to convert anyone. But that is besides the point. Before this thread I never heard of a jew wanting to go to a catholic school and a non jew wanting to go to a jewish school. This thread is very unique(cant say what I want or it would be censored)

Go on...say it. If it was that bad, you probably deserved to be censored.

What I'm curious about is this: I wonder how many people who posted responses in this thread are actually Jewish? (For the record, I am).
