I saw and signed for a one bedroom today! I was given the option between 3 or 4 different units but just chose the one on the higher floor. The building is really insanely nice. My log was 13XX.
Can I ask what lines they showed you and did they show you any floors above 27?
Anyone who currently has moved in use the free Internet service? Any opinions?
How do you know they get free Internet service? I've asked concierge about any internet promotions and no one has said anything. I'm thinking you mean Starry Internet?

Because the building offers affordable housing and during covid, a biden/federal affordable internet thing happened. So with Starry you would get a 30 dollar discount on any internet plan. The basic plan is 30 dollars so you can get it for free.

I thought you had to qualify for it? I looked at Starry internet's website and there was a form to fill out to see if you qualified and usually it's for low income people or people who have used assistant programs like snap/medicare/food stamps etc. For people who don't have those assistant programs and earn middle income, do they even qualify?
I've also asked about the additional $75 Utility credit that was on my TIC, but it seems like they told me I don't qualify for it and while signing the lease, I didn't see anything about it.
I use the free internet service, it's Starry's basic plan and I believe it's for any lottery tenants regardless of income - it's alright, nothing fancy but no outages and seems more reliable then Spectrum which is what I had previously.

Can you advise how you were able to get it set up for free? Their customer service seems to be bad during weekend.
Is getting renter's insurance a requirement before moving in?
I also didn't know that there was a school between the South and North tower, it gets really loud during morning/lunch time/after school from the elementary kids.

The leasing agent I was contacting prior to move in connected me to the starry rep via email, they asked me some basic info then got it set up prior to me moving in - not sure what the process is now.
And I don't have renter's insurance and they haven't checked! Yeah, the school gets a little loud but it's only for a little while so I don't mind

What's the starry rep's contact info? Did you receive any Utility Allowances on your TIC?
I just checked the ACP website and seems like Verizon Home Internet should also qualify for 0$ with ACP. Just don't know if it's regular Verizon or Verizon Fios.

What is the utility allowance then? You mentioned it earlier but I don't know what it's for.
With Starry, just reach out via their online chat or something. You don't need to qualify, because the building qualifies. Even market rate would get the discount.

I'm not sure on that, the leasing agent didn't tell me. She only said I didn't qualify for it, but also not sure why they put that number on my TIC +$75 under Utility Allowances.
I just chatted up Starry and was able to get the ACP benefit applied to my Starry Internet! Thanks
Update: While calling Verizon to cancel the setup, I found out that Verizon Fios is also apart of ACP, so you can actually get the 300 mbs (49.99$/autopay) with the Fios Forward program (Covers $20) and ACP together Free! Haha, will actually just do Verizon if that's the case! However, it seems really difficult to get approved on ACP website because I'm not sure which document they need to know the building is under affordable housing.
