Thats true, guess I was thinking of this past fire. Sure wish you had my rain..
We wish we had just 1/2 of your rain, Good morning,
I got up this morning and smelt smoke but don't know where it is coming from. I know Capitain has a fire but I didn't think I would smell it here in Alamo.
Didn't know Capitan had a fire. I'll go see if I can find anything about it on the website.
It's really windy here today. Glad the wind waited this week to show up and not last week.

There are about 5 or 6 going in the Lincoln County area and the Reservation.
Mayhill, High Rolls and Timberon all had smoke reports yesterday.
Keep your eyes and ears open folks! It looks like the majority of the ones in the Lincoln County area are lightening caused.
Things appear to have quieted down here in Capitan. Last night we had a large amount of smoke but is clearing today. Weather is cool, overcast and very light winds. Awaken at 3am and could see the glow from the kitchen window, so went for a drive. Appears to be about 5-7 miles behind me and on grassland. Was fairly large last night. May be on the old Block Ranch. Believe it will be controled today. Heard 3000 acres burned.

Glad you're OK, Cay.......that is so scary to see that light from a fire in the night sky. I saw it more than once when I lived in Midland.
Looks like even Alamo might get a break from this !#$%^&*!!! heat.
Will get my red bells out today...and then maybe the two boxes of green chile after that.
I have a new roll of shade fabric ready to go.
The only good thing about summer is the fresh produce.
You know, it will most likely be good for the land. I'm just concerned about the cattle and newborns. Thanks
Fortunately, the cows, goats and horses here didn't get killed in the fire but I found out a couple of days ago, 2 dogs lost there lives. They went under one of the houses that burned. One dog was 18.

Take care.....
Just throw me some red peppers over the mountain and I'll be waiting to catch em.
