I think what loborick is trying to say in a nutshell. It is better to stick to your own "kind", because you will never "fit in" or "understand" someone else's race or ethnicity.

Not even close. I'm just saying any group, whether it is ethic or otherwise, have a language and behavior of its own. And if someone else uses it, it sounds contrived and silly.

Go see Gran Torino and watch when Sue and her boyfriend are walking through a black neighborhood and he tries to talk street talk to some black kids. You see how ridiculous it is.

I have friends from everywhere in the world and of just about every ethicity. I don't "stick to my own". But I don't use certain language and phrases with my friends from Texas or Florida that I use with my native friends.

Aww what a sweet story you shared with us... Juding people on how bad they are in poverty gets you nowhere I'm sure you know that.. solving the problem will. Sorry we or let me refrase that "They" all dont have great homes or cars..Its hard for most families, seeing what I saw out there is different from where ever you come from..but not everyone can be like you since you seem to be a bit upper in class as you have showed us on your reactions toward Espanola and the Valley.. Were sorry you felt unfortable, you can belive all you want but unless you have lived there it will be a whole different story. When you do, let me know, then we can talk.

One thing about Espanola.. is that it gets so cold here.. we hold the state record for the clodest temp. In January of 1971 it was -35 degrees.

It has been in the teens..lower 20's at night and around mid 50's in the day.

Well...here we ALWAYS take into consideration with "wind-chill" because we are so friggen flat that it can be zero...but the wind makes the temp actually -30. Sooo...yeah. Oh..I saw some video on youtube a guy filmed in Taos... he said that it was "really windy"...and showed the trees shadows dancing on the house......more like "not even much of a BREEZE" in my opinion! lol

BTW: The wind wasnt the cause of the Tempuratures in Espanola to drop so low.. We live in strange are of the state in a valley where cold aie seeps threw and can cause some crazy temps.. Colder than **** in the winter and hotter than hell in the summer. Strange, I find it.
