Living in the Philly area for almost four years now, I can tell you that the same things can be said of the Philadelphia residents and fellow suburban PA. The label "NJ" is a tough sell so you can almost forget about finding fans outside of our borders.

I think the best move that the Devils have made was acquiring the Trenton minor league team and rebranding them. Though there may be a fair amount of irate Flyers fans, the next generation may grow up liking the Devils. I mean, come on....our state capitol at least should follow the NJ team!

yeah, i think that was a smart move by the devils...the yankees also moved one of their minor league affiliates to trenton, which makes sense since trenton is to close to the dividing point between the outer reaches of the nyc area and the fringes of metro philly. much of jersey is yankee territory (though there are still plenty of met fans spread out all over and of course phils fans down south) so i think cultivating a fan base in that area can only help.
