We had a son at Fairview Elementary. We pulled him out after 8 weeks to homeschool him. As a former public school teacher I can tell you that I would've most likely pulled him out if we were in Franklin or Brentwood as well. The 7 hour days for a 5 year old were not working for us. I LOVED his teacher and principal and felt that their curriculum was great. I think I have just become really critical of how our schools are educating our kids.

Anyway, Fairview has changed so much since we've moved here 18 months ago. It is a beautiful town with a lot of amenities. It took time for me to get used to not having a starbucks or Target nearby, but the park and sports for my son are top-notch. It was extremely hard to find like-minded people as we are non-religious liberals and others like me aren't exactly waving their freak flags. Once I decided to fly my own freak flag and not worry so much what Christian Conservatives would think of me, I have been MUCH happier and our family has made some really great friendships.

We have also gotten used to the space, quiet and slower pace. I don't mind the drive into Nashville/Cool Springs anymore.
