Lions & Ghosts were a short-lived (two albums) L.A. alt-rock quartet who gained a few more fans after first opening for Love & Rockets, then The Alarm.
"Mary Goes Round," from their first record Velvet Kiss, Lick Of The Lime (1987).
Sluggo, do you like Magnum? The older stuff's better. The further on you get, their sound's a little too consistent. Like Blue Oyster Cult, they never broke up, and they have a ton of albums (just more live than studio in recent years).
"Soldier of the Line" live in '85. Original version's on Chasing the Dragon (1982).
^^ I never really heard Magnum until I was stationed in SoCal (KCAL, and KLOS when I could get it in the High Desert), haven't heard that last one since 88 or so. They were underrated, as were many bands of that time.

Coming home I heard today that it's Chaim Witz' birthday (August 25th, 1949), so here's one from his band, forgotten by time, "She's So European", 1980.
Thanks for sharing this! I never knew that Van, may he rest in peace, already had a musical identity before singing country music in the 90s as a member of the three guy act named Black Hawk! I love their stuff.
God bless you and Van's family and the other Black Hawk members always!!!
Holly
P.S. The Black Hawk lead also had a prior musical identity as a member of the group from back in the day named The Outlaws.
