The bassist and one of the vocalists for Level 42, Mark King, was originally a drummer but he sold his drums for cash. Then he bought a bass, adapted his drumming skills to it, and what you see here is a study in funk.
Looking up Anton Fig led me to this video, which I had taped on VHS probably from this very show and have not seen for at least 20 years. It's a neat slice of mid 80s pop/rock, sounding to me much like The Tubes in that era. song starts about 1:20 in, The Worlds Most Dangerous Band - Dress Cool
