slow bullet, right on. Love your playlist. OK, this is a lot whiter...LOL..And it's probably only because I saw Boogie Nights recently, but this song makes me think LA, too. The sadness. The false hopes and delusions of people who've moved there, the stubborn state of denial of the natives who refuse to leave.
I forgot all about Downey's pride: The Blasters. So many great So Cal bands.
Good one. So did I. I suppose I'd have to choose "Border Radio" as the LA-specific song, though my favorite is "So Long Baby, Goodbye". Y'know, generally people always forget about The Blasters. Or have never heard of them. It's a national crime.
Bunjee, you are absolutely right. There is a 2-CD anthology out on them and it's chockful of everything they recorded. 'American Music' should have been a huge hit- no justice. I always dug their version of 'I'm Shakin'. I like the way the Alvins hooked up with Big Joe Turner (another L.A. legend) when they were young, even backed him up as soon as they had their band together.

I first heard felix from "kittenz and thee glitz". Some cool songs on that one...madame hollywood, happy hour, sequel2sub.
