YouTube - KRS-One - Money (feat. MC Lyte)

It has a message on a gritty, no-frills beat.

Oh come one - at least try to follow the rules within 2 years. We all know the classics - I was looking for stuff a little more current otherwise we're basically saying all the good rap has come and gone, which I don't believe. But thanks for posting anyway

Nah, sorry it's all gone

Same bass on every song, yet people are still amazed by the ****.

well if you're not going to participate in the conversation please don't fill the thread with downers about how there's no good rap music left (by your standards). Some of us enjoy the current mainstream/underground rap and would like to discuss it. Thanks

Oh yeah, and someone I know who went to my school just did this music video, and I kind of dig the song:

YouTube - ILL BILL - "My Uncle" Official Video

Better in high quality on youtube.

I might just like it because I like the video so much

I liked almost everything off the Paper Trail album - i think it was a good effort by T.I. It;s funny though the songs I liked the least Live your life and whatever you like are the ones getting the most airplay. Probably because their the most commercial and pop. i like the one with him and luda i'm glad they were able to set aside their beef. you're both rich, you're famous and you're talented what are you beefing about

I like Live Your Life - don't care too much for Whatever You Like. I think my favorite T.I songs came off the Urban Legend album. He had a good mix of producers on that album too - I love Scott Storch.

I was just about to say Live Your Life. It's one of the mainstream rap songs that have impressed me the most. It's hard not to listen to it and feel inspired to do whatever you want.

I think The Game usually comes out with some good ****, too, and My Life is a great song. It took me a while to get over the chorus because I'm tired of hearing the effect, but it's grown on me. I'm sure it's been posted but if not,
YouTube - The Game ft. Lil Wayne - My Life [OFFICIAL UNCENSORED VIDEO]

Edit: I don't actually know what year it is and I know it's not 2008 but it can't be that old. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Nas, Rakim, KRS-ONE and Kanye - Classic

YouTube - Kanye West ft. Rakim, Nas, & KRS One - Classic
Great beat, great lyrics, amazing video. This is hip hop.
