I was quite young and my aunt took me up to Detroit to see Bob Seger the night they recorded this concert album. It's not only my favorite one it was my first one.

We were standing up as was everyone else and the house lights went down at the beginning of a song and when they got to the saxaphone part in the song a spot light about blew me away - the sax player was standing in our chairs, one foot in her chair and one in mine and playing.

I also herald this as the best concert because it was during an era when concerts were strictly about the music and not these elaborate stage presentations. It was just the musicians and the audience. I really miss those days.

Triumph (Allied Forces and never Surrender tours 1981-83 were unbelievablely great) such an under-rated bands

youtube doesn't have any good footage of them back then

I've seen a bunch of good ones, but one that is way way up on my list--if not the #1--was The Kinks, outdoors on a California summer night at the Greek Ampitheater on the UC Berkeley campus, back in 1985.
Couldn't find that one on youtube, but here's some live Kinks anyway!! Enjoy...........

Tool is my second pick even though they're my favorite band.

My #1 is Rage Against the Machine at the Patriot Center (VA) in 1997.
It was general admission so I went right down to the floor. I ended up in one of the mosh pits right in front of the stage. Man was it fun. But I don't recommend anyone over the age of 35 try out the mosh pit. I couldn't move the next day.

That would have been awesome! I love Rage Against the Machine.

Several years ago, my husband's boss gave us good tickets to a Godsmack concert out of the blue. He had gotten them from a client and didn't like that kind of music. The show rocked! They are good live.
