Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

I thought the cast was amazing and the faithfulness to the Aubrey/Maturin universe was very creditable even if the movie was a pastiche of various books. Crowe was superb as Aubrey and I watch this film time and time again to help me visualize life onboard Surprise.

The material is all there, waiting to be developed so it's not like they have to hire someone to crank out new stories.

The series is difficult to read. I need two companion reference books, a dictionary of terminology and an atlas, both written as specific companions to the series. Ordinary dictionaries and atlases would be useless as the author uses archane terminology and placenames together with a few entirely fictional places. It's work, but ultimately rather droll fun.

Sunshine with Cliff Curtis as Dr. Searle, because I wish Dr Searle were alive.

I wish there had been a Ferris Bueller 2 done a couple years after the original. Of course now John Hughes is gone and the original actors are 23 years older. Hey, maybe there would be a talented current director who could pull off a "Ferris Bueller's Class Reunion"!

Titanic II - seriously, I think someone could make a movie that follows the lives of the survivors.
