For the first time, I'm getting to watch "Island of Terror" (1966) starring Peter Cushing! The downside is that I have to put up with the dreadful, awfully unfunny Svengoolie. Generally, I mute his appearances because he is THE worst horror host I've witnessed in my 60+ years of life. Blech!!!!!

However, I'm not in the least disappointed by this sci fi/horror film! The Silicates are really freaky-looking! The only image of them I ever saw was a diorama a man created; he posted pictures of it on YouTube. Now, I've seen them!

I'd love to have a copy of this film, but I'll bet it would be pricey.

The Longest Ride-- really good, Clint Eastwoods son is great and bright. Alan Alda submits a great performance as well. The parallel plot of the 40's couple is excellent. Highly recommend as a romance for all ages.

"Foxcatcher" with Steve Carrell as John du Pont (didn't recognize Carrell). du Pont (high score for strange
