This afternoon I went with a couple from church to go see the movie "God's Not Dead." Excellent movie that I highly recommend. Of course you agnostics and atheists probably won't like it much.

Big Bad Wolves, a 2013 Israeli dark comedy/crime/thriller, with my future husband, Lior Ashkenazi, the Al Pacino of Israel.

I don't want to spoil the plot, but it involves child murders & those who capture the suspected killer. Despite the subject matter (a thoroughly unfunny subject), the continual use of dark humor & superb acting transcends any horror one might feel if the film were more serious & pure thriller. Twists, multiple surprising turns, an ending no one could predict, difficult at times, but a very good story. Still & all, it's a thoroughly adult film & not for the most squeamish. I had to cover my eyes in some parts, but it was still well worth the watch.

I loved it, but I'm a hardcore Ashkenazi fan... see all his movies if you get the chance, especially 'Walk on Water', one of my top 10 favorite films.

5* out of 5. In Hebrew with English subtitles.

Just wanted to add: Quentin Tarantino said it was the best movie of 2013. Re: squeamishness, if one can tolerate Pulp Fiction, this is on the same par in regard to violence, tension & discomfort. Just an FYI...

The Man Who Wasn't There

With Billy Bob Thorton. 2001 film. I loved the 1949 set up and character build up. Really had me guessing til the end.

I just watched Grindhouse: Planet Terror & Grindhouse: Death Proof. Personally, I enjoyed Death Proof more, the first half had a great 70's vibe. Planet Terror was more just kind of over the top gross. I'd still recommend both if you like Rodriguez & Tarantino films.

Something The Lord Made (1st Heart Surgeon)
This, made-for-TV movie, was recommended to me by a BlockBuster manager years ago and I finally watched it.
What an amazing movie! I was impressed by Mos Def's acting!
Alan Rickman's is awesome too but then again, he is Alan frigging Rickman!
