Saw three movies this past week: Sat. saw Blood into Wine, a documentary on Arizona wine country that I found interesting - Sun. saw Furry Vengeance - Monday saw Letters to Juliet. All were great movies for very different reasons

Saw TCA when it came out in 1999 and was so enchanted that I immediately rented the first one, which I also liked very much.

I just re-watched Boogie Nights.First time I've seen it since the theater in 1997.
It's about the 1970-80's porn industry, but is never explicit, often funny, and it really has a lot of heart. Paul Thomas Anderson was only 27 when he wrote and directed this movie.
It is original, well-written, and well-performed, especially by Mark Wahlberg and, of all people, Burt Reynolds.
So many up-and-comers in this film, too: Bill Macy, Heather Graham, Don Cheadle, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The well-chosen soundtrack is the icing on the cake.
