The Wayward Bus, starring a very young Joan Collins, Rick Jason (Lt Hanley in Combat) as Chicoy and Jayne Mansfield showing she has talent beyond the physique, IMHO.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920). Always wanted to see this. It is said to be one of the greatest horror movies of the silent era in film. Pretty wild. The guys buddy askes the somnambulist, how long will I live?
The Rains Came (1939), starring Myrna Loy, Tyrone Power, George Brett, Nigel Bruce. TCM. I always like to watch this performance by Myrna Loy. Toward the end of the movie Tryrone Power
s character comments that she's like a completely different woman - and it does seem that way, her performance is that good.
Haven't seen this one yet but Myrna Loy is a delight to behold on the screen.
Happy-Go-Lucky (2008). I was searching netflix for dvd movies with Andrea Riseborough. She was so good in Oblivian (2013) that she stole the movie from TC and Olga Kurylenko. I didn't recognize her at all in this one.
Some good scenes in this movie. Very powerful performance by Eddie Marsan, who plays the anger management candidate driving instructor. You may remember Eddie from Will Smith's Hancock (2008) where he plays the bankrobber. I also liked the lead character's performance; Sally Hawkins. Especially the closing scenes where she's completely changed after her run in with the driving instructor / Eddie - turning that smile upside down. Out of 5 I gave it a three.
