It's a Children's flick, through and through, so just sit back and enjoy it with no expectations. Being anything of a critic takes away from the enjoyment. Have no expectations to classic Nemo flicks for this one is several leagues below them. Still, the movie did rather did leave me with a refreshed feeling, whether be it the story or watching players of the century past, I am not sure. Say a 7.0.
I hope that the portrayal of Captain Nemo in that one is more like Herbert Lom's portrayal of him in "Mysterious Island" rather than James Mason's in "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". Mason made him like a precursor to William Shatner's Captain Kirk. Bluster and bombast.
