Children's fantasy movie, but much better than most adult films I have seen lately. Hollywood's on a long losing streak. Inkheart is from 2003. Well done, cohesive, held my attention, and satisfying.
It was nice to see a movie where the CGI supported the movie appropriately, rather than driving the movie. Good writing is always appreciated and mostly missing in post-2000 movies.
A pretty nice afternoon monster flick! The movie does it much more justice than the credits, like movie 7.6 and credits 3.0. The script knew all the tricks, showed all the things, that once they were shown, were expected, were "Well of course that is there.".
It felt like it was done in the style of "American Psycho II" but with a slight more seriousness of the cast playing their parts.
Pretty good deal for a buck.

As I got into it, I wondered about the wisdom about watching a police mystery movie because of all the cruelty bringing down my spirit. Once things started picking up, however, it was very enjoyable and hard to put down. I was tempted at the half way mark to go take a nap.....but the movie won out over that temptation. Say an 8.0.
Thursday is Cops & Robbers night of a TV show, a movie. With all the mystery movies I have, Frost, Lewis, Lynley, Morse, Foyle, McCloud, McMillian & Wife, Columbo, a scattering of others.....probably ought to get Cadfael some day....., I figure I could be watching one a week, still, 4 years from now.

70's PG rated movie with women running around scantly dressed. It's nominal in that it makes one feel like they are at the Friday night drive in movies, so I guess it is a decent way to end the week. Decent amount of gory blood but no where as near gross as "Make them die slowly" which sort of shares the same feel. It's high point? It was directed by Terry Becker!.....and as such, one wonders if the music drew on from his previous acting performances.
Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed much. Say a 4.0.
Leave it to Beavers 2014, Amazon Prime, from the Nature PBS series was good.
