Middle-aged New York couple (Woody Allen & Diane Keaton) suspect foul play when their neighbour's wife suddenly drops dead from a heart attack. The widower of nearly 30 years of marriage, doesn't seem overly concerned about his loss much to the irritation of Keaton, who just cannot let this mysterious death go by.
An enjoyable and engaging comedy "who done it?", although both Keaton & Allen soon begin to grate with their whiny, neurotic behaviour: Keaton wanting to dig deeper into the mysterious death, while Allen is doing all he can not to get either of them involved at all. Fortunately, there is some solid support from two friends, who come along to help in the amateur investigation - the rather splendid Alan Alda, and the assured Angelica Houston.
